As the title implies, I am from Ohio. My girlfriend and her neighbor are in the process of becoming "Plan B" care providers. They intend to work together and essentially form what amounts to a daycare down the road.
She is currently receiving the last bit of unemployment from a lay-off and her children are on Medicaid. Apparently, however, once she attempts to get this Plan B business off the ground, she'll be considered "Self-Employed" and her children will be removed from Medicaid even if she's just starting and not currently making a profit.
She's worried and I'm concerned she's going to abandon her goal over it. I have searched quite a bit to see if there's any alternative, but the website and even the staff from the state were not helpful at all.
I was also told the first time she applies she'll probably be denied, which is common, so I was also seeking information about the appeals process.
I really don't want her to give up on this, and told her I would seek out advice so I throw myself upon the mercy of this forum's knowledge.
Any help would be appreciated.
