Looking for dummies guide to buying a house in Ireland

I have an acquaintance who is an EU citizen working in Dublin.
He is renting at present and thinks that he wants to buy a large house ( in Dublin )
It appears that he hasnt got a clue on the topic
Can anyone suggest a web link that I could send to him which would explain the basics of what he seems to want to get into ? ( to cover : agent, survey, solr, land reg, stamp duty etc etc ) ?
 
we went through a broker who sat down and explained all we needed for us and took us step by step rather than overwhelming with information at the beginning which we appreciated ..

If not, maybe someone would like to write a new Key Post. The great thing about having them on Askaboutmoney is that they can be continuously updated and people can ask questions about bits they don't understand.
