looking for a website designer

Does anybody know somebody who could design a half decent website where I could sell stuff and get others to do the same?
I have tried three times and paid three times without success. Perhaps I do not understand the complexities but I would appreciate it if someone would at least explain.
What I want is, I suppose an online shop.
Anyone interested in tendering for this?

A friend of mine is a webdesigner/developer (not super high tech but does the job) He set up this website for selling, payments received by PayPal - check out http://www.confitdefrance.com and see if it meets your needs - he might well be interested in the work as he is currently looking!!
