We were thinking the same thing! Thought about buying one, but think that if thieves came into the house they would use force to remove the safe from the wall or floor if it was just bolted on. Would probably be better to have one built-in to the wall or floor to be sure.thanks. I'll have a look at Aldi, Argos and Woodies. I can bolt them myself to a solid wall. I wonder if a pro-burglar would open these anyway, I have no idea.

If they can remove ATM's there's not much chance for a small safe with 2 bolts.
Get one of these safes but keep your valuables in the shoebox beside it.
I'd have to agree to this - we have our passports and other important documents in a metal box (in case of fire) hidden in a place where thieves wouldn't think of looking.I have to say I think a well hidden location is much more likely to be effective than a wall safe. And cheaper.

The particular one I wanted was cheaper to buy from a German company, €54 cheaper, even after delivery costs, coming from Berlin compared to Meath.
any 1 see a safe wide enuff to take a laptop like in some hotels, wide and deep and about 200mm high?
I was in an apartment belonging to a friend of mine and he had a small safe buried in concrete in a floor in a wardrobe. it was covered with a tile loose the same as the ones already on the floor of the wardrobe. I just got a key to lift up the loose tile and there was the door,, bingo. the little safe was just a nice size to hold money/ wallet/ keys/ passport. he said he bought in a security shop in Fredrick st off Nassau st in Dublin.
