Hi all,
Does anyone know where I can buy a sheet of thin perspex . Its for replacing the windows in a wooden play house in the garden.

Thanks

I use a jigsaw to cut it but it has to be done quickly and carefully, if it cuts too slow and lingers too long in any spot the plastic melts from the heat of the blade. Needs to be well supported to as it can crack easily along the cutting line, it's a good idea to stick a piece of masking tape on, mark the line and cut through then, it gives the jigsaw a bit of grip rather than wiggling all over the place.

There may be better ways to do it but this is the way I do it, easy enough to cut straight lines, lot more difficult to cut circles or curves I find.

And use a blade with a lot of tpi (Teeth per Inch). It should state on the blade/pack that it is for cutting metal/plastic etc.

Miko Metals in Cork have a range of coloured/shaded perspex in various widths. They are about 1m x 500mm in size, and 3-5mm in thickness. (Just in case you are down this way).

[broken link removed] should be considerably cheaper than Woodies or the other DIY providers. For a nominal charge, they will cut to size. Use polycarbonate as well, it'll stand up to a lot more punishment than acrylic or perspex.
