Looking for a Sales Agent

Hi there, I am currently in permanent employment, but I have started a small business importing several gift items from around the world for wholesale. I need to stay in my job for the moment, but while I've done some shows and have some customers, I obviously don't have time to get out on the road and start selling. I've been thinking therefore of looking for an agent to do some selling for me. having said that I have no idea where to start to find an agent and what sort of terms and conditions I could expent. Can anyone out there give me some general advise on finding an agent and what sort of a deal I should be looking for. Thanks.

Be aware that a sales agent may still have a right to commission even after their contract has expired. Take lots of advice before you hire anybody.
