I've just had a baby and he's been given €5000 and I'm wondering what is the best thing to do with it to make it accrue in the long long term. Any suggestions?

At the very least put it on deposit in a high interest savings account. See the best buys section.

If it's to be put away until new arrival is 18 or so then go far more risky.
