Go to the Tate Modern and as well as absorbing some culture go on the massive slides-exhilirating and certainly different!

Lunch in the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. Free lunchtime jazz while you eat.
 
Borough Market - beside London Bridge Station is pretty cool on Fridays and Saturdays ... It's a food market - think Temple Bar Market in Dublin and multiply by 10 - can get very busy on Saturdays but there's a great buzz about the place.
