Is it still possible to lodge sterling cheques to your bank account? I remember doing this a few years ago but not sure if this is still the case. If so is there much of a charge?

yes, you can lodge but it will take some time for the items to clear as they won't go through the normal clearing process. Charges will vary according to bank,
Yes, stg cheques do take 10 days to clear. If your a/c is with BOI there is no charge other than the transaction fee of 28c. If you usually have free banking through online usage etc there will be no charge only the exchange rate. Bear in mind though that Stg at the moment is at the lowest it's been in years.
