Lodged cheque - no signature

Hi Folks

My wife lodged a cheque into our joint account, the cheque was made out in my name only.

I never signed the back of the cheque, does anyone know if the cheque will still clear ?

Unless it was for a large amount, I strongly suspect that most cheques are not processed manually at all - only if someone queries a transaction would anyone in the bank even look at the cheque.

The bank told me that they would not lodge Cheques made out to one party to a joint account.

They have not sent any back yet!

The cheque would have been for a 5 figure sum. Hopefully it will still clear.

It still gone into your account so it should be fine. If it was lodged to her sole account it might have posed an issue if the person processing it even noticed.
