hello

I went to view a property today which i really liked..great location..size etc...

I will more than likely be refused a mortgage with a bank...so i am thinking of going to my local authority for my mortgage...i am on the local authority housing housing list as i live at home with my parents and im sharing a room with my 5yr old son so it is very overcrowded..i am in permanent employment for over two years...i earn approx E2000 per month gross...i have a car loan with 8k remaining on it..i pay E57 per week on that...i have savings of E18k so far...i was wondering should i apply for the mortgage now or wait untill the loan has decreased another bit?would a loan with that amount remaining really go against me with my mortgage application? i would be looking for E185k mortgage

gotapproved for council loan end of october it took 4 months to get approved same finical situation as you u should have no problems

If I were you I'd pay the car loan off now!
You're most likey paying a much higher rate fo interest on a car loan than you're receiving on your savings.
It will also look a lot better to have 10k plus in savings and no outstanding loans.
