Good evening
I have just received a bill for
My divorce proceedings for 19000E . Where is best to get a loan from
Please and do I tell the lender what it’s for ? I can pay back over 3.5 years.
Thanks

Is there any possibility that your solicitor might facilitate a payment plan for paying the bill in installments so that you don't have to borrow? I don't know if this is generally an option but no harm in asking even just to eliminate it as an option.

Hello,

I'd expect that the Banks and Credit Unions would consider it, as a personal loan.

The loan will be assessed under normal lending criteria, so you will need to be able to illustrate the repayment capacity that you've mentioned.

You should definitely disclose the true purpose of the loan.

You should expect to be asked about the terms of your divorce, including any maintenance orders, or attachments, along with details of your income and outgoings.

I'd consider starting monthly payments to Solicitor right now; throw everything you can at it, bonuses, tax rebates, second job.

You're likely to get more sympathy if its clear you are making every possible effort.
