I read some time ago that the CU's will now be checking if there are mortgage arrears when applying for loans.
Briefly, I have a loan of 6k with them, and savings of 3k. I have been paying 75pw for the past 3yrs and have never missed a payment.
I want to apply for a loan around Xmas time (of about 3k), and rang and had a chat with them - they said they would need a letter from my mortgage co. stating I wasn't in arrears with them. I am (unfortunately) in arrears and have been through the MARPS process...
I had an 'unofficial' chat with another person from my CU who said to put the loan application in anyhow, and that once I am in an agreement with the mortgage co., I will qualify for a loan.
Just wondering if anyone has gotten a loan from the CU whilst still in arrears with the mortgage??
