Hello i hope you can advise me. i have an online business in development for5 months. i live in Spain 2 months now. My main concern now is to get tax and vat compliant. The business as yet is not registered. As again i do not know what country to register it in. Im also unsure as to who i am liable to pay tax to. is it in ireland or is it in spain, Any advise or recommendation of a financial person who has expertise in this arena much appreciated.

Once you live in Spain for more than 183 days in a calendar year (Jan - Dec) you are liable to pay income tax there on your worldly income.

Tax advisors in Spain are plentiful and anxious for your buck. You may have to go through the process to become a Spanish resident too. Unless you speak good Spanish I feel you’d be better off residing the 183 days in Ireland and declaring your income here.

Please note if you have any tax free income in Ireland, it may not be tax free in Spain.
