Living abroad + mortgage for renovating property in Ireland

Hi all

Currently living outside of Ireland. I own a property that is mortgage free in Ireland but needs extensive renovation work. Looking at around 60-70k to do what is needed. Just wondering what my options would be here. Want to apply for a mortgage in Ireland.

Property as it stands now is perhaps worth 100k. My income itself falls under the 100k requirement for a non resident mortgage(read in other thread) but is high enough to easily pay off a 60-70k mortgage. The intention is to then, let the property.

I am thinking with the property being mortgage free, I should have no big issues. However I do have a mortgage in the country I am living in. Would that go against me? Would any bank be able to check that if I simply said I did not have a mortgage in the country I am in?(within EU).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
