Liverpool Property - Crane Crash

My apartment has been demolished by a Construction Crane that crashed on it in Liverpool. It will take 6-9 months to rebuild but until then I've no rental income and cannot sustain 9 months of paying the mortgage myself.

The building is insured but not sure about the contents?

Can I claim for loss of Rent?
Can I claim for Contents damage?
If being rebuilt can I claim anything else to ensure I don't lose on my investment?

The only manner in which you will find out for definite is by asking your solicitor for a copy of the Insurance Policy. Some policies cover Owners for loss of Rent and many other items. Did you ahve your contents Insured yourself ??

The crane owner is bound to have had insurance; you need to have your lawyer get in touch with their insurers right away.

On the brighter side, insurance companies are usually very good to deal with on issues like this. Get a loss adjuster on the job to agree the figures with them and get yourself back in business quickly.
