Limited Company Question

We are a sole-trading business considering moving to a limited company. For farming purposes there's more benefit to be unregistered for V.A.T.. My question is if we move to a limited company (for tax purposes) are we obliged to register for V.A.T.?

Thanks for your time in replying.

The obligation to register for Vat isn't determined by legal form, it's determined by turnover. i'm not sure about farming and Vat but if you didn't have to register as a sole trader, you shouldn't have to register as a limited company.

See chapter 2.26 of the Revenues Guide to VAT 2008 for VAT and farmers generally. Once the conditions of 2.26 are met one is not obliged to register, regardless of legal form.
