Hi,
I brought a light from a NI online shop called Bombero (based in Bangor). The light was expensive, and the glass has developed large cracks since it was installed. Installation instructions were followed, and there were no cracks evident when installed. I have repeatedly emailed and called the shop and though they initially answered and promised to replace it, there is now no answer to the phone.
I spoke to my credit card company, AIB, who say that they have a 60 day limit on refunds.
In the UK, from what I have read you are protected by law in the event that the retailer cannot replace damaged goods paid for by credit card - the credit card company must refund in this case.
Does anyone know whether you are covered under UK law if buying goods from a UK website?
Or do I have any recourse under Irish law? (Can't find any similar mention of credit card companies in the Irish legislation.
Thanks.
