Hi
I'm currently have no life insurance and wish to get a policy?
I was hoping someone here could recommend a broker/company that they have have had experience with. There are so many out there i don't know where to start
Some background.
I'm married, 2 kids and earn approx 45-50K/annum
My wife have life insurance through her mortgage. I married her after she obtained her mortgage and we now live in her home. She is not workling herself. The mortgage is not in my name (we married after she moved into her home).
I really want to get life insurance asap to offer her and the children some protection if anything were to happen to me. I am very very financially unsavey!
So if anyone has any recommendations as to a broker/company I should contact i would be greatly appreciative
Thank You
John

John,

It is very difficult to recommend a particular broker or company but the financial regulator has a list of all intermediaries which you can consult here http://registers.financialregulator.ie/DownloadsPage.aspx (it would be handy if one could filter the results by town or county etc).

If you can make appointments to see two or three 'Authorised Advisers' then you may find it helpful to compare their recommendations.

The financial regulator has a web site called itsyourmoney.ie and on this site they have a number of guides which may help you:

For lots of information on life insurance you may find this link helpful http://www.itsyourmoney.ie/index.jsp?

For a guide on how to go about getting financial advice try http://www.itsyourmoney.ie/files/lifeevents/docs/20070815031156_Financial%20advice.pdf

There is also a guide called life insurance made easy and you can get it here - http://www.itsyourmoney.ie/files/publications/p_20070815010254Life_insurance.pdf

If you can't download PDF files then you can call them on 1890 77 77 77 they are open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and they'll post them out to you.
