I am getting bored in my Career (in the IT industry) & I am not too sure what I want to do... does anyone know of a good "life coach" or a "career counsellor".
Does anyone have any experience with these or are they just a bunch spoofers and chancers ... i.e. can anyone set themselves up as one of these.

If you're asking are there any government regulations concerning them, AFAIK there isn't. So in theory anyone could become one.
 
And surely anybody with a life is suitably qualified? ;)
 
They have to be chancer's!
Take a couple of days off, remove yourself from everything(4 day wk-end away?) and think/dream away, think about the possibilities(make them as outrageous as possible, no boundary's), set your plans & when you come back investigate the practicalities of bringing them to fruition. Be optimistic..
 
Anyone who calls themselves a "life coach" is probably jumping on the bandwagon. But there are plenty of genuinely good career councillors out there. You probably should seek out someone you respect in your own organisation and ask for some advice. There may be also consultants used by your firm who would be able to help.
