Life Assurance on property in Hungary? Urgent advice needed

Can anyone please tell me do i have to go with the Life Assurance Policy that the bank in Hungary are offering me (which seems to be extortiionate) or can i shop around for my own policy ? THANKS

I assume you mean 'mortgage protection' insurance. Double check with your HU bank first that this will be acceptable to them, but you should be able to shop around and even use an Irish company, as long as you list the Hungarian bank as having an interest. I've used www.labrokers.ie and they were very efficient.

My bank in HU asked me this as I could not prove any other memebers in the family with earnings. This life insurance is a periodical payment accumulated with interest during the loan periods, so if nothing goes wrong (you do not get killed in an accident) you get all your money back, otherwise your bank does but let you have the property.
