Liability for NPPR tax or not?

I lived in the family home until 30th May. I bought another house that is now my family home. I rented my old family home out on 2nd May. Am I liable for NPPR on this house this year. My understanding is that as I was living in it as my family home on 31st March, I am not liable for the NPPR tax/charge on this property this year. Am I correct on this?

I have purchased a property and received the keys at the beginning of September. It is not and will not be my PPR. There is lots of renovations to be done on it, it will have to be taken back to a shell. When do I have to pay the NPPR and Household charge on it? It will take 4 to 6 months to complete the job.
 
You're not liable for 2012 anyway assuming you became legal owner after 31st March.

If the liability date for 2013 falls after the property is fully habitable it's definitely liable in 2013, regardless of whether or not it's occupied. If it's not habitable you need to see what actually constitutes a dwelling house for the purposes of the act.

I believe the absence of a kitchen and/or toilet means the property is not considered a dwelling house wrt NPPR, but you need to check, or maybe someone else here knows.
 
Thanks, that is great. It is not habitable at the moment but hopefully it will be in 4 to 6 months and then we are putting it on the market to sell.
