This seems to be another Leviathan/David McWilliams gig. www.mindset.ie

April 30th - May 2nd
POD Complex, Harcourt Street, Dublin 2.

In times of turmoil and uncertainty people have a great desire and need to talk. Not just about the economy and politics but about the culture that defines them and their times. The Irish are world-renowned for our artful use of the English language in literature, diplomacy and conversation and it’s high time to celebrate that reputation. Grown from the hugely popular spoken word arena at the Electric Picnic festival and the regular Leviathan: Political Cabaret events, MindField celebrates the spoken word with an exciting and diverse international programme of conversation, poetry and theatre. As well as interactive debate and discussion on everything from sport to economics; politics to architecture; and media to fashion, there will be performances of poetry and theatre and innovative and entertaining free events like Salon du Chat and Chaos Thaoghaire. There will also be book stalls, great food and drink – the complete urban festival. Alastair Campbell - Tony Blair's former head of communications, and PR to the 2005 Lions' Tour of New Zealand - hosts a discussion on the politics and ethics of sport. Legendary godfather of rap, Gil Scott-Heron will perform his first Irish show in many years on foot of his outstanding new album and he'll also appear in conversation during the festival. Other guests include Channel Four's Jon Snow, Independent foreign correspondent Robert Fisk and former manager of Wham!, Simon Napier-Bell in conversation variously about bias in modern media and why X-Factor is killing music. David McWilliams hosts a Leviathan special on the prospects for a New Republic. History Ireland will present two special "hedge schools" as part of the weekend with fascinating discussions on alternative justice and the principles and practice of neutrality There's festival slam poetry from London's Book Club Boutique, Poetry Ireland and mavericks like John Cooper Clarke, DBC Pierre and Sebastian Horsley talking about life on the edge of society. All human life is there...in conversation

There are some interesting events. The one I will probably go to is the British Poet Laureate , Carol Ann Duffy "The World's Wife"

It looks like it's been postponed, as it clashes with the UK elections.: [broken link removed]
