Hi Folks,
I'm in dire straits at the moment and am hoping someone may be able to help/offer advice.
I'm at the closing stage of an apt purchase via the Affordable Housing Scheme with DCC. Contracts are signed, sealed and delivered but lender (Haven) won't release funds until they get an "adequate" letter of indemnity.
I'm on on my 3rd LOI now and they are still not happy as the developers/builders are named on the LOI, along with myself and Haven. I've been around the houses with this; my solicitor, the insurance company, the managing agent, my broker and even the National Consumers Agency.
Everyone keeps telling me its usual to have the developers/builders on the LOI, and they can't be removed as the builders are still on site and my solicitor, broker, insurance company and managing agent are telling me that they've never come across this before.
Has anyone come across this before??? I'm homeless as of tomorrow, have storage charges on furnture mounting and to say I'm stressed out would be putting it mildly!!!
If there's anyone out there who can explain to me that this is par for the course then I might be able to see some sense in this but as of yet no one has been able to tell me why.
Thanks
