The Marriott Hotel Leicester. It is not in the city centre, it is at the junction with the M1/M69. Have stayed there regularly and pretty recently and would definitely recommend it. New building, impressive foyer, lovely rooms, helpful staff, good breakfast and decent restaurant. If you fancy a change of scene it is about £8-£10 for a taxi to the city centre, or alternatively, there is a little village called Enderby nearby with a decent Indian restaurant and a good Italian. Italian is called Cini's, can't recall the name of the Indian. There is also a rather welcoming little local pub where they have (or used to have) musicians in playing a session on a Tuesday.
