Legal Expenses Policy- Motor

Technically its not free as you are paying €20 for the add-on with Kennco, its built into their premium. DAS are the only provider of legal expenses protection policies in Ireland. They offer their services via commercial insurance policies also. So they employ a panel of solicitors who offer advice, etc.

They would probably utilise solicitors specialising in this. So wouldnt foresee any issues with this. can only be to your advantage.

DAS & Claimsafe Claims Management

In reality I am have now realised that I am TRIPLE covered for legal expenses...

1. Kennco Motor Policy
2. IMPACT Trade Union Membership
3. Bought Claim Safe addition from the broker - when buying the Kennco policy - cost extra 40-50 euro

Was this 'mis-selling' if it was already covered via the motor policy?

Bit grey really. They probably included it with an option to opt-out and not pay it. They should have included reasons for it in a statement of suitability that came with a quote. But they probably didn't.

Say you could ask for Final Response' and refer to FSO

A big litiguous for nothing really, isn't it?? The correct procedure would be to make a complaint to the insurance company and have them deal with your complaint. OP never said he made complaint, nor did he say the matter was not dealt with to his satisfaction. So why suggest such a thing?
