Do i need to have a solicitor going to court in a case of having no car insurance?

I thought i had insurance in my wives car but it turns out i did not. when i go to court can i just plead guilty and accept the points and fine or do i need a solictor etc? If so how do i find one and how much do they cost? also how much might the fine be?any advice welcome.

Contact a solicitor who practices in the court to which you are summoned.

Judges take a dim view of driving without insurance.

Yes i understand that. I assumed incorrectly that my wife had added me to her policy but she had forgotten to do so. I am pleading guilty but do not know how the court works or what i am to do. It is in the court on angelsea street court but i dont know how to go about getting representation.
