As the title says. A family member is going to write a will soon and is friends with the solicitor who will help draw up the will. They want to leave something to a child of the solicitor so woner what needs to be done to prevent it being an issue later when time has passed and the will gets to be activated.

It would be much cleaner to use a different solicitor for making the will.

Avoids any conflicts in the future.

many years ago I heard of a solicitor who would suggest that will maker leave something to his children. Not a good idea. If the person is a good friend of the solicitor, then as Brendan suggests, go to another to make the will.
