Hi there.
I've got a rather chequered pension history..... I worked and contributed to a Sun Life pension in the UK for about 3 years, which was non-transferrable upon my return to Ireland so is more or less sitting there since (worth approx. £5000). Since returning to Ireland I and my employer have been paying into a Bank of Ireland personal pension. This is now worth €22,500 and I am once again moving on in the new year to work in Canada. The options I have been given by BOI are as follows: 1) deffered pension payable from retirement date 2) transfer to approved occupational pension scheme (unlikely to be possible to Canada I would have thought?) 3) Transfer to personal retirement bond or 4) transfer to PRSA.
I would be grateful of anyone's advice with regards to a good way of consolidating my existing pensions or at least some advice on the best options for investing my Irish pension whilst out of the country. Is it legal to set up and pay into a PRSA whilst out of the country?
Many thanks,
Odie
