Lawn mower with mulcher

Any major disadvantage to buying a lawnmower with built in mulcher ...I am fed up emptying the collector ( and worse paying for the disposal of the cuttings) I want to cut the grass and not have to worry about the cuttings.

Also about how much new or 2nd hand

Disadvantages
1) Grass isn't taken off the lawn so finds it's way indoors on feet
2) The seeds of weeds aren't removed from the lawn so you will constantly be fighting weeds
3) Don't work well in wet conditions like here in Ireland most of the year.
4) The grass fertilises the lawn and you have to cut the lawn more frequently
5) Looks less tidy.
6) Promotes growth of moss

Handy for rougher areas of grass but not good close to the house.

There is some discussion in these threads on mulchers.

Our ride-on mower came with a mulcher, but we purchased a bagging system as an extra - We have mower 6 yrs - mulcher used about 3 times in that length of time.

I agree with everything the above poster mentioned.
