Lawn Feed & Weed

Hey there everybody,

Can anybody advise a suitable weed & feed product for a new lawn which was sown in September. Lots of weeds now and it's starting to look a bit yellow overall.
Any green (environmentally friendly) suggestions?

the grass is yellow because it is short of nitrogen, and if it doesn't get any nitrogen the weeds will take over. Simplest solution is to buy a bag of CAN or other fertiliser (27:2.5:10, or other variation make sure that there's at least 24 units of Nitrogen, that's the first number).

You can get a 50 kg bag in any co-op stores or farming supplies shop. It should cost less than about EUR 15. Normally one back will do an acre, so depending on the size of the lawn, you can apply some now and more in a month or 6 wks.

The grass will start to grow and should take over from the weeds. The only problem is that the grass will grow and therefore will need to be cut more often.
