Hi.I've booked a week in vegas and was wondering if anyone has stayed in the STRATOSPHERE HOTEL. Looks great on the website but you always wonder is that what your actually getting. Any feeedback would be great. Thanks:D

Hi ya, i have stayed there a couple of years back. It was one of the cheaper options, and having been to Las Vegas before a number of times and stayed in some of the higher end hotels i found it to be great value for money. when i arrived there i upgrade to a suite... it cost little or nothing for a fab room with better views and jacuzzi etc.
the pool and pool side bar etc are grand, its nice coz the pool is really high up on top of some of the floors and there are brill views. the casino is good, granted its at the end of the strip and the area around it would not be the safest at night. we travelled by foot during the day and by cab at night and it wasnt expensive either.

there is a nice bar and the resturant at the top of the tower is revolving... its a bit on the expensive side but the food was great, service impecable and views at night time are something to look forward to!

You ll have a ball!

The Stratsosphere is great. Make sure you have a shot on the thrill rides at the top.
The downside is you are at the very far end of the strip.
Also when you are getting the taxi from the Airport ask them to head straight onto the strip. If they drive out & into the tunnell they're ripping you off.
Its a bit like the taxi's in Dublin wanting to go from the Airport to Ballymun by going down the M1 & Up the M50...LOL

If you haven't already booked the hotel then the world's your oyster, Vegas 4 & 5* hotels are practically giving rooms away at the moment, and as it's a celebratory week, treat yourselves to somewhere a little more central and luxurious. Check the hotel sites directly, the best deals are there and not through 3rd party sites. Having said that it's always worth watching for bargains.

I'll re-iterate what I said on your other thread, I think a week in Vegas is too long. 3 or 4 days is plenty before the city starts to get to you. Worth hopping on a cheapo SouthWest or JetBlue flight to California for a couple of days. Hotel bargains to be had all over the place!

Stayed there a couple of years ago great cosy hotel, dont use the phones in the room though. girlfriend was on to parents for about 10 mins and cost us more than $50.

its at the bottom end of the stip, but you can always use the monarail to cut down on walking time

Going over myself in March and have been checking hotels. The Stratosphere does seem to be a bit away from the others so I ruled it out. Check out www.smartervegas.com for special offer codes.

The Stratosphere is a nice hotel but the North end is one of the seediest areas IMO. Would try and stay mid-strip if I were you - Treasure Island, Paris, etc. Check out hotels.com for good rates. Enjoy the trip!
