hello
Afraid I managed to drop my 4 year old compaq laptop , hinge needs replacing and possibly the scewwn also. this will possibly cost 150 euro or more to repair.
A new basic laptop is 350 euro so repairing does not seem the best value.
I am wondering do any retailers take old laptops in as trade in . I know someone who got a trade in some years ago at PC world but seems they no longer do -trade ins.
If anyone knows any vendor in the Galway , mayo , roscommon are that might take a trade in please let me know.

Many thanks
FC.

One option to consider is putting it up on Adverts
or Donedeal, as 'Laptop for Repair or Spares'

Did the hard drive survive the fall.

Thank you Pudds
Never thought of that option . Not very technical so I do not know if the Hard drive survived, It wont light up think the screen is bust for a start.

I would be careful about selling a laptop second hand unless you have wiped it properly. Anyone you sell it to could access any personal data you have on the hard drive.

Run the search option in this forum about clearing info before selling as there some good previous threads.
