Our DELL Inspiron 5160 is regularly switching of its own accord to battery even though the power cable appears to be working fine (green light staying on). Sometimes when we switch it on it works fine and for that again it won't accept the cable. Had a look at the DELL forums and note that it is a [broken link removed].
The CD drive appears to have come back to life
and now this problem crops up.
Any thoughts on an easy solution other than a new motherboard as mentioned on the forums.
Needless to say the warranty is out.
