I have a dell 510m

I suspect motherboard problem.

When I hit the power teh leds come on for 20 seconds nothing happens and it powers off.

Nothing on the screen never gets to bios or POST

power seems ok
battery is fully charged.
I have removed all peripherls hd ram to no avail.

Anyone any ideas or recommndations.

Not sure where you're located, but I got mine repaired by Aardvark (yeah, I know) on Trees Road, Mt Merrion after being told elsewhere that it was kaput.

On this basis alone, I'd go back again in the event of any future problems.

Mine is a company laptop and had stall and then memory errors on reboot, IT called Dell and they came a replaced motherboard next day. I was impressed with Dell, on more than one occasion now

Could have been , doubt it knowing where I work though!. ABout 5 D610 motherboards have gone south in the last 3 months.

So Dell support (which you probably have to pay for) is great but D610 motherboards are not!?

Certainly looks that way, maybe we are working the poor things too hard! I always thought my HDD would collapse before anything else. Speaking of which I collected a 320GB from Maplins today for E105 for a friend, Seagate Freeagent.....

well out of waranty.

I am based in tallaght. Ardvark probably wouldn't be too bad to get to I suppose.

just don't know is it worth repairing though.
