Lap-top screen flickering

My Son has an Acer Laptop, for the past month the screen is flickering and not getting any better in fact the flickering is getting worse. I think at this stage the screen is dying and my question is; is it worth getting fixed; on the norm is it expensive. It is 2 years old didn't cost an arm or leg; roughly €300.00. If so, can anybody recommend a place in Cork city for repair.

Had a similar problem with my son's Asus, I'ts with Argos at the moment being repaired under warranty. I'll let you know how things went if it helps
