Know that the average temp is 30 degrees but how suitable with a fair skinned 2yo child ????

most places in the med are very hot around August.I would get ones of those little swimsuits that cover most of the child except for arms and legs.Put a sunhat on and plenty of sunblock.keep him/her out of the sun from 12- 3pm.If you are very concenrned about the hot weather can you go in september when it is cooler.

hi Tosh,we live in Sp[ain next to the Med, you have no idea how good it is to hear from someone thats concerned, most just let the kids run, then get upset when the poor youngsteres go 'Lobster red' its the same old, same old, always get NEW sun block, use it well, dont forget to reapply after swimmingand enjoy yourself, we have just had a heat wave here35/ 36 evry day for th last ten days, have a great break

I was in Lanzarote last august and it was very hot. High factor cream, sunhat, etc. definetly apply. The sand is too hot to walk on - have to have on sandals or flip flops. Very family friendly place, we had a lovely holiday there.

Use plenty of sunblock and as recommended do stay out of the sun between about 11.30 to 3pm. Good thing about Lanzarote is it is very windy so much more comfortable but also this fools you into thinking its not as hot as it really is. Great family holiday venue.

boots do a great kids suncream range in handy pouches and they smell quite nice - goes up to factor 50 I think. There are also some great little small tents around that you can buy over there. Handy if you are spending time on the beach. Have seen loads of kids use them and they are very useful if they want a nap or if you want to keep them out of sun for a few hours.

I was in Lanzarote in MARCH and the sand was too hot to walk on then. We covered the 2 kids in Factor 50.

In August, the sun is at it's hottest between 11 and 4 so be prepared.

I hope you have AC in your apartment or hotel room.

thanks for replies - think october might be better but prices during mid term much higher unfortunately
