Lanzarote,Gran Canaria,end of September?

Hi all,
Hubby and I usually go to Majorca at end of Sept but would like a change this year.We're thinking of Lanzarote or Canaries for a fortnight.No children to worry about as they have flown the nest(how quickly that time arrived!!!!)We're both in late forties and so don't need hectic club night life but neither do we want to want to retire to bed early from boring evenings.Any recommendations especially for apts would be great.

europa apartments in playa des ingles, very clean, views of the beach, sea, quiet area but also central to the town.
 
Lanzarote is lovely. Puerto del Carmen is lively but not overun with very young people so suitable for us older folk too If you or your partner drive head out into the countryside as there are some lovely villages and fantastic scenery paticularly the clifftop overlooking La Gomera Island. It is absolutely stunning. Not to be missed when there!

Lanzarote is far better option. Lovely island, no high rise, lovely beach, good day trip to National park, plenty of top class accommodation. Personally would recommend El Dorado apartments in Puerto del Carmen available through Sunworld but plenty of options. End of September good time to go.
 
Old timer has got it spot on the el dorado apts the are lovely apts me and the girlfriend have stayed there the 4 years we have wet there.They are close to the main strip and the shopping centre is across the road from it. There are plenty of day trips you can do and they aren't that expensive.
 
Matagorda, Lanzarote would be an option. About 15 minutes from the airport and 3kms seafront walk to "the strip" in Puerto Del Carmen, which is where the main action is. Matagorda has a commercial centre with shops, restaurants and pubs so you don't need to go too far every night.

Taxis to Peurto Del Carmen are less then €5 each way if you don't fancy a walk.
 
We stayed in The Farriones Apartments which were beautiful and right on the beach. They are located right between the old and new towns of Puerto Del Carmen. Highly recommeded.
