Hi went to see a house in this estate thats in my budget and that you can actually see the Luas from the front step.

The estate looked a tiny bit shabby however.

Can anyone tell me anything about it? Is it due to improve? Is it well regarded?

Thanks in advance!

lanndale is a good enough area im from close to there and there is no hassle at all but like every area there is one or 2 hell bent on trouble but these lads seem to have got sorted out and its virtually crime free

'virtually' crime free? 'hell bent' on causing trouble?

Is this just a comment on life in general or are you refering to specific incidents in this estate?!!

I live in town at the minute adn theres a real problem in my estate with cars being broken into and general vandalisation and taht kind of thing really REALLY annoys me!

Re: Lanndale in Tallaght - whats it like?

It is an older estate, - 30yrs plus so some houses are a bit "tired" looking alright, but its fine, close to all amenities, I wouldn't imagine any trouble just noisy kids I suppose, you will get that anywhere.

fettercairn is across the st from it. i understand this estate is quite rough? when I drove up at the weekend the field accross the st. had a horse in it and the one that leads to springfield was COVERED in smashed beer bottles, bags of rubbish and empty beer cans.....as if this was where gangs of people gathered at night to go drinking...anyone know if this is so?

There is a road, a school a gaa club and a couple of football pitches separating Fettercairn and Springfield, I wouldn't imagine that there are rough gangs hanging around, it is the main way the kids get to the secondary school though. Have a look during the day and again in the evening to see what you think.

When you see horse in housing estate warning lights should be flashing wildly in your head saying no way. ITs not the national stud if you get my drift.

A road seperating it from Fettercairn, I think that sums it up. Sorry to be so negative but personally I'd want to be as far from Fettercairn as possible. In fairness though that end of Fettercairn is better than the citywest end.

With Lanndale lot of the area is rented, i know its a generalisation, but some renters care less for properties than if higher percentage of owner occuppied.
Lanndale in itself is alright, its the formentioned surrounding it that I'd be sceptical and wary about.

Re: Lanndale in Tallaght - whats it like?

Unfortunetly I'd imagine most peoples budget is not going to stretch to areas where you do not have to think about neighbouring estates, an island would be nice,,,,,, seriously though, I grew close to here and the thought of areas surrounding me (where I have never been) never crossed my mind or had any effect on me, until I got older and realised people tarred the whole of Tallaght with the same brush. The areas mentioned are very separate. If you look at estates near Citywest like swiftbrook and Sundale, which are very close in price, they are really close to offputting parts.
