hi i just recently put my 98 polo through the nct ans it failed due to emmisions he said my lamdba sensor was disconnected..... i brought it to a mechanic who claims there is two on the car... one is connected and one isnt.. but recons the exhaust is off an older model polo which has the sensor on the underside of the exhaust... are there any cases where a car has two lambda sensors...???

yes there are many cases fro this but to be hones on the polo i would hazzard a guess and say there is a good chance that the cat you have is off an older second hand car and is shot.

I woud get another cat fitted and make sure it is the correct one for your car.

cranky

PS> if the lambda is shot and has been for a while there is a good chance that your cat is shot also. So fitting a new lambda may well be a waste of money as it will burn out in no time.
