Any suggestions of where to go in lake Garda? Thinkin of going there for a hol in July. There are a lot of optins and Ive no idea what any of the are like. Cheers!

Stayed in a lovely hotel in Garda a couple of years ago called Hotel Louise.

Its a lovely stroll from the hotel down to the lake and then along the shore into the town of Garda which is also lovely.

There are some great walks and it is mountain bike heaven if you are into that.

We went for a week and highly recommed it. There are also camping options etc.. but we didn't do this due to new baby at the time.

Hotel Louise has lovely food and a nice quite pool area. We went in May and the weather was pleaseant if a bit overcast at times. I hear it can get very hot in summer and to look out for the mossies.

Riva is a nice little town, depends on how much excitement you want though, it can be quiet. Great location though.

It would be a good idea to stay in a resort that has a train station so you can easlity to trips to Venice, Verona etc. Resorts at the top end of the lake such as Riva don't have this. Good one to base yourself in would be Desenzano

We stayed at hotel gardenia and villa charme in bardelino. Small hotel serving breakfast outside in lovely courtyard. Has two pools and is a 15 to 20 min walk along lake side to Bardelino. One hour on bus to Verona. Can also be reached easily by train from Venice.
Close to theme parks and all the other towns on the lake can be accessed easily by boat. Very hot in July though 40 degrees some days!! Have a look at trip advisor.com great site when organising holidays.

We spent 3 nights in Sirmonie which was lovely but it was packed during the day with boat trippers but lovely at nights when they all went back on the boats. We then spent 5 nights in Malchesine which was great walking cycling and plenty to do at night. Lake Garda is a nice holiday if you at interested in the outdoors. Enjoy!
