Sunday Times travel supplement about 4 weeks ago had a review of Lake Balaton. Think they said avoid the lake ( described it as something like the coastas, which is a wee bit hard to believe)but to go to some place within 30 kms of it. article also said Ryanair were going to fly into it shortly
Am thinking of going somewhere near Balaton. Maybe in the hills overlooking it on the west coast. Near Keszthely, perhaps. Anybody been here? Hotel recommendations?
Wife and friends were there two years ago. Enjoyed it immensely but say it is not really suitable for kids. Nothing for them to do being the main reason.
