Ladder To Reach Gutters.

I have spent a while looking online for a ladder of suitable height to reach gutters on an average height semi-detached.

I have taken the view than rather than pay someone to do the job I buy the ladder which will eventually pay for itself as it will also be used on other rental properties,however I cannot seem to find any of suitable height.

Does anyone know of one for sale in the Dublin/Meath area or where best to get one?

Looked at them a few days ago,they don't have a ladder of suitable height for guttering though.
 
homebase / woodies do them 3 piece you can then break them down to 2 and 1 short for other work about €100 i think
 

I strongly suggest you do the Health and Safety Course for working at Heights before you ascend a ladder to that height.

It is significantly higher and less stable than anything you may have experienced in a house previously.

You need to balance the cost against risk of fatal, not just serious, injury.
 
I will call them tomorrow Sparkrite,I looked at the little giant model and it just confused me frankly,all I want is a ladder that extends in one direction,I dismissed the site too easily.

Failing that its Woodies.

I take your point Onq and agree with you its a different game at the height but I have worked at that height before (with assistance below)and believe me there's no rushing when working up there.

Have a look at some form of tethered harness for while you're working.

I know its a hassle, but if it saves you from a fall, well worth it
 
This is a close up shot.
You can make out the tether.

The "fall" looks deliberate to demonstrate the efficacy of the tether.
However, the latter wasn't securely fixed at the top and/or that strap broke.

Still better than a straight drop onto concrete.
 
ive bought ladders for that particular job off www.ladders.ie i got a 10' x 3 section their light weight and handier to transport than a 15'x 2 section and they were €220 i dont remember the chaps name but he was very helpful and im sure would have the safety equipment that 'onq' talks about.
