was looking for recommendations for designer kitchens/non flat pack ones (not panel centre, cash&carry ones etc). anybody got ideas of where to go, also area looking to cover is one wall 12ft long with usual range of top and bottom presses, another wall of 6-9feet which houses the window, so limited top presses, island unit and work tops.

any recommendations and what sort of price range would we be looking at for good quality solid wood and carcasses and usual extras pot draws, pull out storage etc.

Thanks,

You could try Simon Pink of Houseworks in the city centre, who recently won Young Designer Award for Kitchens (UK and Ireland). SBPost had a feature on him which said their kitchens start at E25,000!

A solid wood kitchen could be had from 8K upwards... don't mind people who say 20K or anything like it. The 8K wouldn't include flooring, appliances, tiling, and maybe a few other things.

A reasonbly high quality solid wood kitchen, with worktops, appliances, and all work to get a finished result might cost from 12K to 14K upwards.

Check out furniture.ie I suppose for contacts, or get recommendations from here, or elsewhere.. check in local papers.. call into places etc etc. You are in the driving seat, with many companies desperate for business!

Anybody with cash to spend and loking to buy any product or service at the moment is in the driving seat!

We're looking at Miele (and the sub-Miele range Geba) as well as Bulthaup.

What other makes should we be considering in the cool, contemporary looking end of the market?

We do not want anything that looks wooden (painted or otherwise) or traditional in any way.

Also, we don't need appliances (except for a dishwasher) as we spent a lot on these two years ago when we moved into the house.

Thanks.
