My kitchen sink has the single lever type hot and cold taps/faucet. I think something is going wrong with the seals because it chatters a few times when I turn the hot off. I cannot obtain seals from the local hardware/builders merchants. After bit of research it would appear that different manufacturers have different seal kits. Some are a ball type valves, others a cartridge type, apparently it is an easy job to replace them but I do not want to dismantle without new parts in case it is broken and will not go back together again. I do not know the manufacturer, nothing is marked on it apart from “Terla EN246” which I think is a British Standard. Any ideas how to identify it, and where can I get repair kits?
So far I have been to some of the large plumbing and builders providers in Cork including B & Q and unable to obtain any. Changing the taps on my sink is a nightmare because of the design of the cabinet, when it would only take 10 minutes to change a seal. I am going back to the old type taps after this. how can they sell them and not stock seals?
I replaced the tap tops on an old pair of kitchen sink Pillar taps with these, they come in a kit with different spacers to suit most taps. Grand job only cost me €20, there available in Woodies etc.
Thanks pudds, but these are not taps, its the single lever type, up/on, down/off, left/hot, right/cold. still unable to find seal kits for these. Just been to Woodies, B & Q, Heatmerchants etc. they don't have them.
