Kitchen Island hood too big

Hi ,I bought a hood from a local retailer 10 days ago,which was opened yesterday.It is extra wide and slighter bigger than quote.(They had one on display but out of reach to measure.)I have the original receipt and packaging.What are my chances of getting a refund.I know they dont stock a smaller one.Am i within my rights looking for a refund?
 
You can always try. I don't think they would issue you a refund, as there is nothing wrong with the hood, its just that it doesnt fit in your house.

They may issue you a credit note. Ask if they could order in a smaller model perhaps?

First thing you need to do is go talk to the retailer.
