What are peoples' experience/feelings on kitchens from above...doing a good deal at the moment and in Jan and was thinking about it?

I researched last year and went for Ikea. Same quality/half the price of the rest. It was in my price range and I'm still pleased with it.
It was right for me, my finances and needs at this time :)

Get the kitchen but do not use B&Q for fitting...their costs for this are enormous...get a local fitter

I purchased a metal sliding drawer type item for inside a 600mm cabinet few years back in B&Q, excellent quality for around €50 as far as I remember.

Few months ago went back to get another and it was now €90 and made of see through plastic.

We bought our kitchen from a shop in athlone, came completely flatpack so we had to make up the units ourselves aswell as fit them. Savings allowed to us to have a granite worktop....

B&Q do a couple of different ranges at different price/quality points. I bought one of the Cook & Lewis ones with solid oak doors there a few years ago and it was all good quality. I fitted it all myself though, so can't comment about their fitters.

I fitted kitchens from other suppliers for friends and the B&Q one compared well in terms of price and quality.

Thanks guys, I was actually advised by the kitchen designer NOT to get the b a q staff to fit it because it was an expensive service!! that being said i'm being offered a big discount 40 percent and they are offering me the same discount on the appliances, american style fridge freezer etc Thats a lot fo savings!
i looked at the review board on google there and they dont look toogood so now im a bit worried about taking them on....
