I've heard the Primary St Killians is very good but there is no Secondary, from what I gather most of the kids go to various schools in Walkinstown, MacDaras in Templeogue, St Marks in Springfield or Tallaght Community in Balrothery.
St. Kilian's is excellent. It is true to say that the children have to go to schools elsewhere and this causes them a pointless journey. Buses leave the estate well before 8 and the charges for these will probably rocket with fuel increases.
Its disgraceful that there is a site on the estate for the secondardy school for the past 25/30 years and still no sign of it being built.
Wow that is really interesting, have the residents not lobbied for this as presumably this would service the local area? Im sure there is a requirement for a Lets Educate Together school in the surrounding areas too? Also meant to ask about creche's in the area? Or a local childminder?
