King Size Prawns

Anyone know where I can buy king size prawns like you would get in a restaurant.
 
I have bought them a few times in Tesco in the Finest Range. They cost about €7.50 for about 6. They taste quite fine.

But, you would probably be better buying them from a fishmonger - at Dunlaoghaire pier for example if you live in Dublin.

However, we don't all live in the big smoke, so we have to make do with what is available to us!

You can get them in Cavistons in Glasthule / Sandycove, Co. Dublin but they won't be cheap.
 
If you don't mind frozen, big black tiger prawn you can get it from Asian supermarket EUR22 for 1 kg. These are the same prawns served in most of the Chinese restaurants/take away.

Just bought some to-day in Iceland. They are excellent value @ €7.09 and you get 40 in the ring. It includes sauce but not particularly keen on this - just make your own with mayonnaise (light of course!) and tomato ketchup. With brown bread and nice glass of wine ....................
