Have looked at a few houses in the killester area (abbeyfield / middle third) and was wondering what the area was like in relation to traffic / schools and in general. Thanks

Lovely area with good schools. Dart station is close by. Traffic can be a bit heavy in the mornings.

Agree with the above. Very pleasant area. Killester is becoming very "Clontarfised" in terms of property prices and the type of people moving into the area.

Thanks for the comments although i don't think anyone would classify me as "clontarfised". Would agree with you that some of the house prices in Killester are jumping on the back of house prices in Clontarf but seem to get more house for your euro. Any other comments on the area would be greatly appreciated

Hi
Killester is a great area. The are that you are looking at is a great location, middlethird/abbeyfield. You have primary schools for both boys and girls (St Brigids) within walking distance and also secondary schools. You have local shops within walking distance too, either killester village or down the other end where the Malahide Road roundabout. Also you have the dart and bus routes on both the Howth Road and Malahide Road. Couldnt really fault the area. If you are looking in Abbeyfield there is great potential on the bungalow style houses. Been in house there that has extended in the garden (has huge garden) and gone into the attic. Fantastic house now.
Best of luck with what you decide.

Thanks. Do you know what the mix of residents in the area is in terms of age profile. Are there many young families in the area

There would be a mix of people in the area. Although in middle third, the houses there are slightly older and so alot more younger people moving in (as original owners are dying). Would say there are more younger than older in the area.
